The Journey

Having a relationship with the Father

This page is a clear communication of the gospel and the roles of each of the Trinity. Very important to have a clear foundation to move forward.

What does it mean to be a son?

In order to be a leader, it is a requirement that you must be a good follower. In this context as fathers, we will not be effective until we are able to be sons of the Father in heaven. Here I see a summary of the items I shared at a recent meeting on the main page and then over time a page or article about each one.

Acknowledge the Father (Gal 4:6)

Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”

A follower of Christ, honored by my Father (John 12:26)

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

Led by the Spirit (Romans 8:14)

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

A Peacemaker (Matthew 5:9)

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Love my enemies (Matthew 5:43-44)
Prays for those that persecute me (Matthew 5:43-44)

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Glorify the Father like Jesus did (John 17:4)

I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.

Fed by my Father’s will (John 4:34)

Jesus *said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.

A son by faith (Galatians 3:26)

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Suffer for his name (Romans 8:17-18)

and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Creation is waiting for me to be revealed (Romans 8:19)

For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.

A good seed in the earth (Matthew 13:36-43)

Then He left the crowds and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.” And He said,“The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, and the field is the world; and as for the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the tares are the sons of the evil one; and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels. So just as the tares are gathered up and burned with fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

Being a Father

Introductory information here as well as encouragement to be in a discipled relationship. Links to various articles. Jesus was an adoptive father to the disciples. He taught them how to be “fathers” to the church. He showed them important truths that are still a part of our lives today and apply to being a father.

Widows and Orphans

James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

We are called to be a father to those children around us that do not have one. We are called to fill gaps in the lives of widows caused by a missing husband. James refers to this is pure and undefiled religion.
